Description
Cyanotype is a photographic printing process that produces a cyan-blue colour print.
Cyanotype is made by combining two different chemicals applied on absorbent material which later dried in a darkened room.
The chemicals coated on the paper react to UV light (direct sunlight or UV lamp) to make the print.

Botanical Monotype is one of the simplest yet rewarding printmaking techniques. Combining striking rolls of colour and botanical elements, you can create up to 3 prints from one composition, consisting of positive, negative, and ghost.
Monotype or Monoprint is a technique that generally yields only one good impression from each prepared plate. Monotypes are prized because of their unique textural qualities.

Description
A linocut is a type of relief print. Relief printing is when a piece of paper is “stamped” with ink from the top surface of the plate.
You’ll learn the basics of the linocut technique, from familiarising yourself with the tools and medium, planning out the image, cutting the linocut block, and preparing the printing medium to print the image into small editions.

Photo intaglio is a derivation from the original photo etching technique. Unlike photo etching, which using acid or chemical to ‘mark’ the metal plate, with intaglio, we utilise safe, non-acid process to make it environmentally friendly.
This analog print process is a beautiful option for photographer or artist that would like to print their artworks. Unlike digital print, this process is fully hands-on with human touch on it that makes each print piece slightly unique visually from one another even when it printed from the same matrix (metal plate).

Description
Screen printing is a technique that involves using a woven mesh screen to support an ink-blocking stencil to receive a desired image.
Screen print is a versatile medium to accommodate different visual styles; be it drawing, painting, photographic, or digital image. At the same time, it is also one of the most physically involving techniques as there are many steps to do in order to create a good series of prints.
In our screen print workshop, you will learn to coat your own screen, develop your image, set up your screen, mix your colours, and ultimately pull your own prints. It is a holistic, involving, and rewarding process.

Description
An etching is a type of intaglio printing. Intaglio printing is when a printing is carved to a plate to make grooves that trap ink. In this workshop, you’ll learn the basics of the etching technique, from familiarising yourself with the tools and medium, planning out the image, scribing your image on the plate, biting the plate in a mordant solution, and preparing the printing medium to print the image into small editions.

Our printmaking specialist will teach you the basics of screen printing using your own designs: designing a print, exposing screens, mixing acrylic water-based colour palettes to stripping the screens and printing your finished design.
All materials will be supplied, tools provided.
There is a maximum of 6 students per workshop so you will be given plenty of individual guidance to help develop your work.
